Workflow Weave Lab

Description

Participants sketch swimlanes on dark paper, then digitize them into a weave diagram that shows parallel work, waiting states, and documentation handoffs. The emphasis is on asynchronous proofing rituals that respect JP approval culture while shrinking calendar load.

Inside the dossier

  • Swimlane kit with magnet tiles for roles and blockers
  • Async proofing windows with explicit SLA language
  • Documentation specialist office hours baked into the sprint
  • Signal board that highlights only red/yellow states
  • Pairing scripts for editorial + design critique
  • Retro prompts that capture friction as data, not drama

Outcomes

  • Weave diagram adopted as the single source for cross-team timing
  • SLA language teams can paste into tickets without legal review
  • Friction log that feeds the next quarterly planning session

Desk questions

Can remote teammates join?
Yes. We ship a weave kit and run mirrored Miro boards. Onsite seats are limited to eighteen per cohort for focus, not scarcity marketing.
What is not covered?
We do not negotiate vendor contracts or procurement approvals; we document what those teams need from you.
How physical is the work?
Expect standing sessions and wall work. If your team needs seated-only mode, tell us during intake.

Participant notes

“Workflow Weave Lab forced us to name invisible waits. Design finally sees when editorial is truly blocked versus politely slow.”

“Retro prompts felt blunt, but the friction log is now our most quoted doc.”
